Marek Kainrath

Founder

Whether it is a business or a hobby, Marek believes in uncompromising solutions.
The underwater world stole his heart over on the first dive, and with every step forward, his bond with the water grew stronger. He quickly hit the limits of the open circuit, and his enthusiasm naturally guided him into a world without bubbles. The transition to the closed circuit allowed him to fully utilize his own potential and experience moments that only the silent diving offers.

He was impressed with the new capabilities of his Liberty unit, but the deeper he delved into the secrets of CCR diving, the more lonely he felt. The desire to share extraordinary underwater experiences with equally enthusiastic divers resulted in another uncompromising solution – founding of the elite diving club LEVEL3.
As an investor, pragmatist and CEO of many other projects, he created a platform that provides CCR divers not only with high quality services and new opportunities for discovery, but above all with the opportunity to share strong emotions in a club environment.

Martin Strmiska

Founder

Martin has been working as full-time underwater photographer and journalist for two decades. He has completed thousands of dives in different environments, yet he is still obsessed with capturing underwater emotions. Discoveries of horizons beyond recreational diving and the ambition to document technical diving stories inspired him so strongly that he got certified as cave, rebreather and trimix diver.

As wide angle photography and videography is his favourite discipline, he has developed skills in lighting up the dark spaces and capturing the “big scenes” with a fine-tuning accent. He entered silent diving in 2013 and for last 3 years Liberty has been his main CCR diving unit.

Damir Podnar

Shareholder

When it comes to CCR wreck and cave diving in Balkan area, it’s to find bigger name than Damir Podnar, alias Dado. Beside having almost 30 years of experience in technical diving, Dado is the team leader for the technical diving team of the Slovenian Ministry of Defense – Civil protection, Head of the diving education program for PSS association in the Adriatic area and instructor in training center for Civil Protection and disaster relief. His greatest passion is cave and wreck exploration. He is an instructor trainer for all kinds of CCR Liberty configurations and it’s an honor for Level 3 to have Dado on board as partner.

Edmund Yiu

Hong Kong

Edmund’s ambition to dive further, deeper and stay longer in overhead places introduced him to technical CCR diving world almost two decades ago. With more than 6000 dives conducted all around the world, he keeps healthy balance between diving in caves, exploration of wrecks, observing of marine life and educating like-minded divers. Through establishing higher training standards and modernizing training best practices he wants to improve safety for CCR divers as well as profitability for dive centres and instructors. Edmund acts as the Greater China Regional Head for RAID serving dive centres and developing instructors throughout the region. He is a CCR Liberty Instructor Trainer and RAID Full Cave Instructor.
We are proud to have an opportunity to collaborate with such a capacity.

David Dušek

Czech Republic

David has been diving since 2003 and vast majority of his 3000+ logged dives are cave and cavern dives. Despite being born in Czech republic, Mexican cave systems are his home for 20 years. He is a founding member of “Mexico Cave Survey” and member of MCEP and QUEST exploration projects. While extensive exploration beyond ordinary limits is his unceasing passion, his professional attitude is driven by implementing high training standards. David’s ability to artistically capture huge inner spaces belong to some of the finest in the industry. We are thrilled to welcome David in Liberty Divers Club.

Kurt Storms

Belgium

As a keen technical diver, Kurt didn’t accept the limitations of open circuit and entered the CCR diving world in 2014. Even though long cave dives and explorations of flooded mines are Kurt’s greatest joys, sharing gained knowledge with his students brings him equally powerful sense of fulfillment. Through his underwater photography he wants to collect and manifest the strong emotions he feels when discovering unordinary places. We are excited to welcome Kurt as a partner in Liberty Divers Club.

Enrico Bortolotti

Italy

Enrico, an author of 2 Federal Fias manuals, discovered bubble free diving in 1999. Whereas his love for CCR diving was clear right away, it was in 2015 when his emotional side met its rational counter part. As an electrotechnical engineer he fell in love with Divesoft solutions and CCR Liberty has become his exclusive breathing apparatus. In 2020 he added Liberty side mount unit to his kit and became expedition ready diver for the most demanding dives. He took part on Italian expedition to HMHS Britannic, as well as other expedition dives in Mediterranean. For Enrico, picking up new skills and knowledge is just as joyful as passing it onto his students and our club members.

Alan Whitehead

Partner

Alan has been diving for over 40 years, originally through CMAS but moved to PADI & IANTD in the mid 1990s. Previously owned The Diving Academy for over 10 years in the UK and started running Instructor courses in Malta using Divewise as a base...loved the centre so much and Maltese way of life they bought it! And then created Techwise in 2008.

Main focus is now CCR & Cave but teaches all levels of courses on single-cylinder, side mount, twinset and rebreather. He's a PADI Course Director and Tech Instructor Trainer, an IANTD Instructor Trainer, and a TDI Course Director & Instructor Trainer.

PJ Prinsloo

South Africa

PJ started his diving career as a commercial diver in South Africa and became a scuba instructor in 1996. Ten years later he discovered technical diving. Shortly after that he entered silent diving world and currently he is an instructor trainer for CCR Liberty side mount and back mount. PJ has been involved in a number of deep wreck expeditions in South Africa, Egypt and Malta. Even though observing elusive Coelacanth in deep canyons off Sodwana Bay and encounters with sharks in Pinnacles, in Ponta do Ouro, Mozambique are among his most memorable dives, being deep in a cave completely silent is what brings gives him the strongest thrill. In March 2020, PJ was nominated as a member of The Explorers Club. We are honored to have PJ as a partner in Liberty Divers Club.

Paul Vincent Toomer

South Africa

Innovation and tremendous passion for diving represent Paul's path in the diving industry from the very beginning. He learned diving in cold waters of Southern England and shortly after that he founded his dive center in London. Since 2002, technical and CCR diving are his main focus. His highly innovative ideas have resulted in many remarkable professional achievements, however the opportunity to work with friends in an amazing, passion-driven community is what Paul appreciates the most. Currently he acts as a president of RAID training agency. We are proud to welcome Paul in Liberty Divers Club as partner.

Michael Menduno

USA

Michael Menduno is an award-winning journalist and technologist who has written about diving and diving technology for more than 30 years. He coined the term “technical diving.” His magazine aquaCORPS: The Journal for Technical Diving (1990-1996), helped usher tech diving into mainstream sports diving and he produced the first Tek.Conferences and Rebreather Forums 1.0 and 2.0. Michael serves as the Editor-in-chief of GUE’s InDEPTH magazine and senior editor for DAN Europe’s Alert Diver. He is also a contributing editor for X-Ray, staff writer for DeeperBlue.- com, a board member of the Historical Diving Society (USA), and a member of the Rebreather Training Council.

At the beginning of the expedition, it wasn’t clear whether there would be any opportunities to dive at all. In the end, the expedition was a complete success.
